8 months!!!

I wish I could just freeze time every once in awhile and just stare at you taking in every feature, every cry, every look you make because it is all going by so fast and before I know it you will be going to college and getting married. Okay I got a little carried away, but that is how fast I feel this is going. You are still a baby, but barely. You are so eager to be able to do what your brother does you follow him around and play with every toy he plays with even the really small ones you could choke on, but don't even put them in your mouth it's like you know they are for playing with. I feel like you completely understand everything I tell you. Like your a little old soul. This month you have done so much: crawling like crazy, standing on everything and letting go, climbing, waving, giving high fives, saying momma & dadda (you say dadda all the time). You are very predictable and are becoming very fiesty if you want or don't like something you are sure to let us know!!! As I write this last line you are starting to cry in your crib so YES I am a softy and will go get you because I cant seem to let you cry it out. We love seeing grow and spending every minute with you. Happy 8 months:)

Maloof Money Cup

Today was the Maloof money cup (skateboard competition) at the OC Fair. It was a year ago today when my sister was practicing for that same competition where she fell going for a trick and tore her ACL and fractured her knee. She had to under go surgery and physical therapy and now a year later here we are. She was able to over come her fear of re-injuring her self and the fear of what if I'm not strong enough yet. I was so proud of her for the strength she has to face her fears. It takes a lot of courage to get on a skateboard and launch yourself down the handrails that these girls do and to stand up for women's skateboarding (they wanted to get rid of girls competitions all together). Lauren did well today she didn't place which I'm sure was a little disappointing for her, but she also did not give up which would have been a lot easier to justify.

Garden State

Yes that is a picture of a HUGE zucchini. That's what happens when you are away for the weekend and you are unable to tend to your garden. That's right mommy and daddy went out of town this weekend for the first time ever!!! 2 nights to ourselves children free. It was lovely! We had our very good friends wedding to attend in Seattle and at the time I figured Kingsley would almost be 7 months so it wouldn't be that hard leaving him. Wrong! The night before I was a wreck crying as I rocked him to sleep the fear of flying was giving me great anxiety. And as the morning approached us leaving I had to wake him up to nurse one last time before I left. Boarding the plane was not much better all I could do was pray. Then we landed and I was like a whole new women excited to be alone with my husband was an understatement. Adventuring a new city together, being able to take showers without children, blowing out my hair and putting make up on in the same day was amazing. Remembering why I chose Alex as my life long partner was the best part about our whole trip. We are the "A" Team and we are good together. I love my husband always, but through the chaos that the day brings with children you often overlook those great qualities that made you fall in love with that person. Our 3 day vaca went by fast and the hardest part about coming home was having to throw away all the breast milk I pumped and was trying to save. Of coarse while we were gone I had forgotten my camera so I didn't get to take pictures of how beautiful everything was including the party at the farm and the elegant wedding at the Four Seasons. Looks like we will have to go back soon to visit and take pictures:)

Patriotism at its best

Every year we go down to Main St. to enjoy the 4th of July parade and every year it gets more fun for the kids. Screaming as the fire trucks drive by and clapping for the soldiers. Holidays just seem to be more fun when children are involved.
